LeadGab operates LeadGab Messaging, a customer-messaging service. A business installs a chat widget on its own website or connects its Facebook Page; when a person writes to that business, this service carries the message and stores the conversation so the business can reply.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted. If anything here is unclear, write to the address on the website you were using and we will answer.

Information we collect

The chat widget contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. It communicates with this service and with nothing else.

Information we receive from Meta

When a business connects its Facebook Page, we ask for the permissions pages_show_list, pages_messaging and pages_manage_metadata. Through them we receive, and store, only the following Platform Data:

We use this data for one purpose: to show the business its Messenger conversations and to send the replies it writes. Specifically, we do not sell it, share it with data brokers, use it for advertising or ad-targeting, use it to build profiles, or transfer it to any party other than the service providers named below. We do not request any permission we do not use, and we handle Platform Data in accordance with the Meta Platform Terms and Developer Policies.

A business can disconnect a Page at any time from the application's settings. Doing so unsubscribes this service from that Page immediately, and no further Messenger data is received. To have the conversations already received deleted, see Deleting your data.

How we use information

To deliver and continue conversations between a business and the people who contact it: showing messages to the business, sending its replies on the channel you used, notifying its staff that you wrote, and keeping the history so the conversation makes sense when it is picked up again.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it with data brokers.

Who we share it with

Your message is passed on only where that is what delivering it requires:

Each of those providers handles the part it carries under its own terms. We disclose information beyond this only where the law requires it of us.

Cookies and local storage

The chat widget sets no cookies. It keeps one identifier for your conversation in your browser's local storage so that reopening the chat shows what was already said. Clearing your browser data ends that link and your next message starts a new conversation.

Staff who sign in to answer messages receive one cookie, which holds their session and nothing else. It is not used for tracking.

How long we keep it

A conversation is kept until it is deleted — by the business, or at your request. A business may also set conversations to be archived automatically after a period of inactivity; archiving hides a conversation from the day-to-day list but does not erase it.

When a conversation is deleted, its messages and the image files in it are destroyed permanently, on the same day. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days and usually within a few working days.

Your choices and rights

Write to the address on the website you were using for any of these. Depending on where you live you may also have rights under the GDPR or the CCPA, including to object to processing and to complain to a supervisory authority.

Security

Conversations are stored on our server. Access tokens and passwords are stored hashed or encrypted, transport is over HTTPS, and staff accounts reach only their own workspace.

Children

This service exists to contact a business and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
